Spreading my Wings

The beast called her.
It's cries she heard over the howling wind and thunderous waves that smashed into the rocks.
Oh how it would be again, she thought, riding the winds. Feeling the freedom of the neverending horizons.
In a heartbeat the decision was made; she started to run. She felt her feet lightly on the cold stone as she got closer to the cliff's edge. Her body thightened; prepared to take the leap of faith. Then she jumped.

Background:
Stranded in this strange world, limited by mortal gravitation, Britta feels alone. She sends out a call into the world and the winds carry it to the corners of the world. She waits and waits, hoping that someone or something will answer. And one day, she hears a call. It is a beast that answers, a lone griffin who senses a kindred spirit.
